I Built This for My Daughter
I built NovaScribe so I could be a better father without being a worse doctor.
I'm Patrick Proctor, MD, FACC — a board-certified cardiologist practicing at Heart South Cardiovascular Group in Alabaster, Alabama. Like most physicians, I was trapped in a cycle: see patients all day, and either run behind schedule or stay late finishing notes. Or worse—bring them home.
My daughter turned three, and I realized something had to change. I was watching her grow up through a screen, typing chart notes instead of being present. My wife—who works as my NP—was in the same boat. We were both exhausted, and our family was paying the price.
I Tried Everything Else First
Before building NovaScribe™, I tested most of the leading scribe software on the market. Some were slow. Some produced notes that weren't up to my standards. - Evidence Mode happened because I needed proof that every sentence in my note came from the actual encounter—not AI fabrication
- The speed optimizations came from needing notes ready before the next patient walked in
