NovaScribe for Teaching: Precepting View for Residency Programs
NovaScribe for Teaching turns every resident’s note into a window on their clinical reasoning. New diagnoses, medication decisions, referrals, and complex cases, summarised for the attending who is actually doing the teaching.
See how your residents think
Supervising documentation is a strange job. You are responsible for the clinical reasoning of people whose reasoning you mostly cannot see, and the artefacts you are given to judge it by, self-reported case logs and a sample of notes read under time pressure, are the weakest part of the whole process.
NovaScribe Academic gives the supervising attending a structured view of what their trainees actually decided, drawn from the notes the trainees were already writing.
Stop reading two hundred notes a week
The weekly Clinical Decisions Report surfaces the twenty cases that matter for teaching: new diagnoses, medication changes, procedures, and referrals. The routine follow-ups stay out of your way.
Evidence for evaluations
An objective, timestamped record of each resident’s clinical decision making, which is real material for milestone assessments and end-of-rotation feedback rather than a log the trainee filled in from memory three weeks later.
Your residents get the full product
Trainees save hours a week on documentation and their notes come out more complete, which makes them more teachable. The insight you get is a by-product of work they wanted to do anyway, which is the only version of this that survives contact with a busy service.
Who this is for
NovaScribe Academic is built for attending physicians who supervise clinical documentation: residency and fellowship program directors, teaching attendings in community programs, and preceptors at medical and NP or PA schools.
Most programs that reach out look like this:
- Community or university residency programs with five to twenty trainees
- Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, or Pediatrics
- A program director or core faculty member with budget discretion
- Frustrated with manual chart review, self-reported case logs, or EHR-native tools that were never built for teaching
Pricing
The supervising attending pays $299 a month. Residents and trainees attached to an Academic licence are comped to the full Professional tier for as long as the relationship is active. There is no per-seat charge for trainees and no implementation fee.
Early access
We are working with a small number of programs to shape this before a wider launch, which means you get direct access to me and real influence over what gets built. It also means the product is younger than the rest of NovaScribe and you should go in knowing that.
If that trade sounds right for your program, get in touch through the contact form and choose “Academic or teaching hospital” so it reaches the right place.
